Post Expo China Hat Clean Up

Teaming up with the Overland Expo, we are hosting a clean-up the Monday morning after the July 8-10 Deschutes County Fairgrounds event.

The Deschutes National Forest surrounding China Hat Road south of Bend needs our help. This area of our forest has hidden the burden from misuse for too long, and now we need to show it the love it deserves. We are calling all volunteers, and teaming up with the Overland Expo and Tread Lightly to help make this our most successful cleanup effort yet.
 
The cleanup will commence at 9am on Monday July 11th, which is the day after the Overland Expo event at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds. We are expecting a lot of volunteers, so once you sign up we will be in touch about where your specific meeting place will be and any additional details you need to know. 
 
Upon signing up, please select a location you wish to help clean. Some of the forest sites are limited to the size of the group, so they will only be available for selection until full. These sites are more remote and typically involve more intensive work and potential biohazard encounters. The General Cleanup is unlimited, and again we will provide instructions on these areas to be cleaned in a separate message. 
 
We would also like to know if you will be have a vehicle or trailer to help carry out trash. Please indicate if and what you will be bringing for this purpose.
 
All groups will reconvene afterwards where the after clean-up lunch and beer will be served.
