Point-In-Time Count 2024. Help count our sheltered and unsheltered neighbors.

REGISTER to VOLUNTEER for the 2024 Point-in-Time Homeless Survey and Count.

On Thursday, January 25, 2024, East Texas Human Needs Network (ETHNN) will conduct the Smith County Point-in-Time (PIT) Homeless Survey and Count. The PIT Count is a one-day snapshot of homeless populations in our community that captures the number and characteristics of people who are experiencing homelessness. This important information is used by our community and service providers to design, fund, and implement programs that help homeless individuals and families find a place they can call home.

WHO CAN VOLUNTEER?
Anyone 18 years old and older who shares our commitment to helping the homeless of Smith County is encouraged to volunteer.  We will provide you with training both before and on the day of the survey. Every team will be led by an experienced team leader.

WHEN AND WHERE  |  January 25, 2024, 8:00 AM-8:00 PM
Volunteers will be assigned to various sites based on the shift and volunteer role chosen. After a brief training, volunteer teams will disperse throughout the community and count/survey individuals living on the street, locations not intended for human habitation, and in shelters.
