Sylvia Watford is a Senior Financial Education Specialist with Virginia Credit Union, a member-owned financial cooperative with 300,000 members.

Watford’s passion is to inspire individuals to make sound financial decisions. She has worked in various capacities in the financial services field including as a loan officer, manager, financial advisor and financial counselor/coach. She plans, develops, and conducts financial education seminars on money management, budgeting, credit and savings.

Watford holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from Virginia Tech. She has earned designations as an Accredited Financial Counselor, a Certified Educator in Personal Finance and a Financial Fitness Coach.

Virginia Credit Union is a leader in financial education for youth and adults. The credit union conducts workshops, seminars and classes in financial education that reached more than 60,000 individuals last year.
